Affordable-Home-Decor-Updates

Hello friends and happy Sunday.  We got an extra hour of sleep last night, and I’m not mad about it.  😊 I hope you are enjoying the fall weather we’ve been having.  In my last post, I shared some fall outfit inspo, you can check it out here.  I’ve done a few little updates to the house since the Pandemic began, and realized I never shared them on my blog.  I know we will be decorating for Christmas soon, but before we do, I’m sharing a few affordable home décor refreshes I have added.  Even if you’re already coocoo for Christmas, you might find some ideas for now or after the holidays.  Also, I’ve included some affordable fall décor ideas that will carry you through Thanksgiving, if you’re decorating for Thanksgiving now.

Keeping it simple for Halloween and Thanksgiving, I don’t go all out.  But I do like to have a few little nooks around the house that are festive.  I love pumpkins.  It is usually so hot in Texas, you can’t set real pumpkins out too early. #texasheat Therefore, I collect unique faux pumpkins for home décor and just keep adding to my collection each year.  It’s fun to group them together with different textures and shapes.  Additionally, I love real miniature white pumpkins.  I buy them every year for decoration because they are adorable and festive.  They are so versatile, you can add them to wooden bowls, trays, jars or baskets.

Decorator tip:  I am definitely not an expert, but I do enjoy decorating.  Consequently, I often use a few basic things and build on them for the different seasons.  Candles, wooden cigar boxes (found at antique shops), antique jars and vases in white or cream work well for many seasons.  I recently bought flameless candles to incorporate in my decorations.  Also, each of these affordable home décor groupings would look good on  a coffee table, end table or in an entry way.

Another super popular decorating item is succulents.  They look great in the kitchen, living room or dining room.  The potted faux succulents are no maintenance.  Since I kill the real ones, I prefer decorating with faux potted succulents.  I’ve also recently became a fan of ginger jars.  They are also versatile for decorating.

These little revamps really changed up the look in our place.  Plus, it boosts my mood when I switch up the décor now and then.  I’ve linked things at different price points and various retailers, from Amazon to Pottery Barn in this post.  The best part is most of these items are very affordable.  I hope you find some home décor inspiration.

This post does contain affiliate links.  Also, some items I’ve had for a while, so I have linked similar items when possible.

Do you switch up your home décor with the change of seasons?  Has the quarantine time given you the chance to tackle some diy projects or refresh your decorations at home?  Tell me where you find your  affordable home decor inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by.
