This is my first blog entry on shopping at boutiques in your local area. I think it’s important to support small businesses in your community. Boutiques and smaller clothing stores are where you can shop unique fashion pieces you won’t see someone else wearing when you head to a party or a night out. By shopping local boutiques, you support local designers, help the economy and find unique styles not found at a larger department store. You may even start a trend that others will want to duplicate.
I stopped in to check out the latest spring and summer looks at C. B. Finchers on a Friday afternoon. C. B. Finchers is a family owned business, located South of Fort Worth, off of I35W South, Exit No. 39 (FM 1187, Rendon-Crowley Road) Many folks may think of them as just a western wear store that only sells hats, boots and jeans. While they do have a nice selection of western wear, I found they sell a whole lot more. They cater to a variety of sizes, ages, and styles, including the latest fashion for ladies. You can find the Boho look, casual styles, cowboy chic dresses, etc. There is really something for just about everyone, including handbags, knives, and jewelry in addition to the latest fashion. I am excited to show you some of the super cute things I found while shopping there.
I tried on my first pair of Silver Denim Company blue jeans at C. B. Finchers. Silver Denim Company makes hand finished denim with distinctive details in each pair. This pair is from their Comfort Series, Super stretch denim — and they are truly super soft and comfortable. They are mid-rise, distressed, and have embroidered lace embellishments. They fit skinny – but not too tight. They have a slight western feel, but still hip enough to wear with a trendy shirt and mules, wedges or booties. The lace embellishments make them unique and stylish. They fit true to size, and are just under $100. Honestly, these jeans were so comfortable, I had to buy them on the spot. And I haven’t wanted to take them off since. And if you can’t wear ripped jeans to work, you’ll be happy to know the lace underlay (under the distressing) covers everything so you can wear these without worry.
You can’t go wrong with anything in the color blush these days. And this blush v-neck tee is no exception with it’s super soft feel and wrinkled, distressed look. It’s really comfy, and the V-neck style will look great with a choker, scarf, or with a jean jacket or vest. The material is thin, so it won’t be too hot for a summer day, but it isn’t too thin or sheer. I am wearing a medium, and it’s just over $25. This Silver jean vest comes with a little distressing and pockets at the front on both sides. It pairs well with the Silver jeans or with black, white or jean shorts too. A jean vest will add to your look and keep you warmer on a cooler day. I am wearing a medium in this vest. It fits true to size and is less than $50.
The choker is a five strand leather choker with a turquoise stone drop in the center and just under $40. You’ll be stylin when you wear it. #chokerstyle
This mint green shirt has a hip Aztec design. I am wearing with the jeans, but it would go well with white denim shorts too. This shirt fits true to size (wearing small) and is under $35. It has a lace triangle inset in the back hem (not shown) for a more feminine look. The Aztec design has pink-coral details in the stitching that adds a subtle pop of color.
Lace is quite popular and here to stay for the summer. This white strappy number has white lace overlay in front for a feminine look but is all the fun in the back with criss-cross straps. Worn over a white lace camisole for a little more coverage and adding to it’s flirty style. It is over-sized, flowy and long. The lace hem adds a pretty finish and looks great with distressed jeans. The top runs a bit big (I am wearing a small), but is figure flattering and under $40. You could also wear this over a skinny tee or a top with flowy sleeves #bohostyle. The lace tank I am wearing under this top is one size fits all and a great look under shirts and tank tops, especially if the top has over-sized armholes or a deep V-neck so the lace can peak out from under. These lacy camis come in just about every color you can imagine and are about $25.
The gray racer-back tee is perfect for a summer concert, a night out on the patio or for festival-goers. It has a little bling with metal brads and a few crystals to jazz it up. It’s also great with a choker, runs a little small (I am wearing a large) and is less than $35. Also worn with the lace cami, which adds a feminine touch.
Charcoal gray is a great color for any season. With colorful embroidered flowers, this top is perfect for summer . These peach and white flowers are attention getting, and the top is flowy and slightly longer in the back. With a big floral trend right now for spring and summer, you won’t go wrong with this top. And adding the peach, lace cami under really brings out the peach in the flowers. This top runs true to size. I am wearing a small and it is under $30.
The little leather choker is super cute and perfect to dress up any outfit. It has a genuine pearl in the center that is large and uniquely shaped. It is a steal at less than $20.
I was pleasantly surprised at all the great finds at C.B. Finchers. The examples I have on the blog today are only a small sampling of the variety found there. I hope you found this post helpful, perhaps finding some ideas for summer you want to try.
